Steps to Apply

1) Fill out Application Form (link below).

2) Meet with S-A-S Faculty leader(s) in addition to submitting your application to the program.

3) It is highly recommended students discuss S-A-S and their academic plan with their mentor as well as S-A-S Faculty.

Applications with be compiled and reviewed by faculty leaders with announcement of accepted students prior to registration for the spring semester.  Faculty leaders may utilize a "wait list" for the program to fill seats if initially accepted students decline their acceptance into the program. It is highly recommended students discuss S-A-S and their academic plan with their mentor as well as S-A-S Faculty.

Oct. 30 - Info meeting in GR-02 for next S-A-S student group (2025).


Nov. 5 - Application Deadline (application form and interview).


Nov. 8 - Notification to students of acceptance to program.


Nov. 13 - Accepted student deadline to confirm their commitment to the program.

Nov. 18 - Registration for Spring 2025 begins.


Accepted Students should discuss with mentor and S-A-S faculty regarding S-A-S and their academic schedule:

1) Register for S-A-S in Spring 2025 as a 5th course (no credit) that meets ~1 day/week (Wed. afternoon).

2) Register for S-A-S in Fall 2025 for 1 course credit that meets ~1 day/week (Wed. afternoon).

Application Form Questions:

"What are your desired outcomes from this program (e.g. research experience, professional productivity)?  Please provide your answer in a short paragraph (5 sentences or less) and be as specific as possible."

"Do you expect the S-A-S program to alter your academic plan (i.e. major, minor, courses, etc.) while at Eckerd and/or post-graduation from Eckerd? If yes, How?  Please provide your answer in a short paragraph (5 sentences or less) and be as specific as possible."
